Story

On June 30, 1966, all of Japan was thrilled by the Beatles’ visit to the country. Ryo Kususe (Yuma Nakayama), a high school student, is taught to play rock music by Mieko Araki (Nami Tamaki), an older girl who moves in next door and gradually becomes obsessed with her. When Mieko starts dating Masatsugu Nomura (Bunichi Hamanaka), the lead singer of the popular group “The Cannibals”, Ryo’s heart breaks and he becomes even more obsessed with music.

It is 1973 and, at the age of 20, Ryo starts a rock band called “THE REASON” with Katsuya Yamashita (Koki Mizuta), Hiroki Okazaki (Airu Shiozaki), Shunsuke Itami (Toshimasa Komatsu) and Mitsuru Yamanagi (Mondo Yamagishi), and the band gets enthusiastic support from fans. Meanwhile, he meets Mami Oikawa (Reika Sakurai), who works in the idol duet ‘Wafer’ alongside her sister in a singing show and they soon find themselves attracted to each other.

However, their dreamy days crumble when John Lennon is shot dead on December 8, 1980, and Ryo soon begins to wander between nightmare and reality.

Historia
