Romance of the Three Kingdoms: True War” is a smartphone game app developed by Qookka Entertainment Limited under the supervision of Koei Tecmo Games, based on the IP of Koei Tecmo Games’ historical simulation game “Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13.” In 2026, “Romance of the Three Kingdoms: True War” celebrated its 5th anniversary since its launch.

To commemorate this milestone, the 5th-anniversary song “春風” (Harukaze) featuring vocals by Nami Tamaki and lyrics and music by Yohei Ohnishi, was released.

Nami Tamaki, who started playing the game following this collaboration, and Yohei Ohnishi, who has been playing for four years.
As tracks that capture the “joy of fighting alongside friends” and the “sense of connection” unique to two people who truly enjoy the game, they have garnered significant attention from many players.

In this interview, we spoke with Nami Tamaki and Yohei Ohnishi about the background behind the 5th-anniversary song “春風” (Harukaze).

──First, could you please briefly introduce yourselves?

Hello, everyone. I’m Nami Tamaki.
I had the honor of singing “春風”, the 5th-anniversary song for “Romance of the Three Kingdoms: True War”.
I’m truly delighted to be a part of this memorable occasion.

──This is your first collaboration with “Romance of the Three Kingdoms: True War”, Nami. Could you share your thoughts on the experience?

I’ve always been interested in the history of the Three Kingdoms, and I was familiar with things like the “Oath of the Peach Garden” but this collaboration gave me a chance to rediscover its appeal.

When recording “春風” I approached it with the hope that I could express, in my own way through song, the “sense of fighting alongside comrades” and the “bonds and loyalty among comrades” felt by everyone who enjoys “Romance of the Three Kingdoms: True War”.

──Do you usually play video games, Nami?

I do enjoy playing games in my free time.
This collaboration gave me the chance to try “Romance of the Three Kingdoms: True War”, and at first, I just thought I’d give it a quick try. But once I actually started playing, I found myself completely absorbed in it before I knew it (lol).

It’s really fun to strategize as I play, and there were many moments where I realized: “The history of the Three Kingdoms is this deep”, which drew me in further and further. It’s also fun to train generals and plan my formations. I think the ability to play cooperatively with my alliance members is a unique charm of this game.
I’m still a beginner, but I’m enjoying it as I gradually learn more!

──Is there anything in particular you’re looking forward to for the 5th anniversary?

I’ve heard that the 5th anniversary event will offer 50 free recruitment orders in-game, along with a chance to get a ★5 general.
I’ve got my eye on a general named “Yuan Shu,” so I’d be thrilled if I could get him (lol). I’m really looking forward to it!

──Finally, could you both share a message?

Congratulations on the 5th anniversary of “Romance of the Three Kingdoms: True War”!
I’d be thrilled if you’d listen to “春風” a lot! I think “Romance of the Three Kingdoms: True War” is going to get even more exciting from here on out, so please enjoy it!
